Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant I will provide assistance to the Departments of Strategic Advancement and Government Relations. This position is responsible various duties, including daily office management; scheduling meetings with internal and external constituencies; coordinating and maintaining records; data entry; preparing documents and materials; tracking legislation during the annual session of the Tennessee General Assembly; and assisting with the planning of events during TBR's SOAR Awards and Day on the Hill.

Job Duties
  • 10% - Coordinates the arrangement of Foundation Board meetings, peer group meetings, and other events; involving logistics, travel arrangements, refreshments, agenda, announcements, minutes, etc. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Assists with day-to-day office tasks; including drafting correspondence, scheduling meetings with internal and external constituencies, purchasing departmental supplies, processing travel accommodations, and preparing reimbursements - (Essential)
  • 20% - Assists in the preparation and entry of data for a variety of uses; including reporting for internal and external constituents - (Essential)
  • 25% - Tracks legislation and conducts legislative research during the annual session of the Tennessee General Assembly - (Essential)
  • 15% - Assists with planning and execution of the SOAR/TBR Day on the Hill events - (Essential)
  • 5% - Performs other related duties as assigned - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

One (1) year of clerical experience

Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree;
Experience working in a higher education or legislative setting; and
Experience using Tennessee Legislation Service and Smartsheets.
