The Administrative Assistant II responds to audit inquiries from the City Auditor's Department and researches and prepares written responses to customer inquiries and complaints. This position is also responsible for assisting with updating and maintaining internal billing procedures and participates and supports Ambulance Billing projects and submits all technical service requests for equipment and repairs.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Tracking monthly program data
  • Compiling monthly and yearly statistical reports for the billing section
  • Monitoring workloads
  • Conducting regular financial and data audits
  • Reviewing and approving billing forms before submittal to insurance companies.
This position supervises administrative staff, trains new and existing staff as needed, and distributes and monitors work to ensure billing deadlines are met.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills supporting division heads, implementing improvements and the overall administration of a division or section.

SALARY

Pay Range: $63,044 to $107,806 annually.

Hiring Range:$63,044 to $97,780 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.
  • Three years of professional experience in public administration or governmental research or finance.
  • Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
  • Two years experience supervising staff engaged in conducting research and providing customer service.
  • Experience developing procedures and ensuring compliance with procedures.
  • Experience communicating orally with customers in person, over the phone and through written communication.
  • Experience working under time-critical deadlines and pressure and handling multiple problems and tasks simultaneously.
