The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill five (5) regular, full-time positions in the class of Administrative Clerk I/II at the Health and Human Services Agency, Agricultural Department, and Regional Child Support Agency. The combined annual salary range for both Administrative Clerk levels is $40,414 - 53,331.

Note: The selected candidate will be placed at either the Administrative Clerk I or II level depending on the hiring department's discretion and candidate's qualifications and experience.

General Class Description

The Administrative Clerk I/II class series performs routine and basic administrative, clerical and accounting functions within a county department. Duties may include customer services/frond desk reception, answering questions, scheduling meetings and appointments, typing departmental reports, forms and letter; and maintaining, monitoring, and processing administrative and financial records, transactions, and inventory.

Current Vacancies

The Administrative Clerk I/II vacancy at the Public Health Branch of the Health and Human Services Agency supports the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program and reports to various sites within Yolo County. This position serves as the first point of contact for clients as the front desk staff member and works daily with families of young children and babies. Typical duties include assisting with answering phones, screening for program eligibility, scheduling WIC appointments and preparing clients for their visit with other WIC staff for breastfeeding support and other support services for the program. The ideal candidate for this position:
  • Speaks and writes Spanish fluently
  • Has experience in and is enthusiastic about nutrition and breastfeeding
  • Is familiar with using computer programs and exhibits a commitment to continuous learning
  • Possesses strong customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively work with difficult clients
  • Is highly organized and must be able to follow direction, receive constructive feedback about work assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Must be dependable and willing to adapt to and work in a fast-paced environment at multiple sites independently and as a member of a team
The Administrative Clerk I/II vacancy at Colusa, Sutter, Yolo Regional Child Support Agency will primarily work in the Woodland office. As a front desk staff member and the first point of contact for our customers, the incumbent will primarily greet customers, ensure customers are connected to the correct caseworker, assist customers with making payments, and process incoming and outgoing mail. The ideal candidate for this position:
  • Has strong verbal and written communication skills including Spanish
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office - experience using Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Is organized and detailed oriented - able to manage multiple tasks while focusing on accuracy
  • Is a reliable and dedicated team member-works effectively as part of a team, and contributes to a positive and productive work environment; willing to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Is dedicated to customer service and confidentiality - able to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism; understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations

Administrative Clerk I

Experience: One (1) year of clerical experience. One (1) year of full-time business education beyond the high school level may be substituted for the required experience.

Typing Speed: Ability to type no less than 35 words per minute.

Administrative Clerk II

Experience: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible clerical experience; one (1) year of full-time business education beyond the high school level may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

Typing Speed: Ability to type no less than 35 words per minute.

License
