The Work Assistant will assist the School of Law's Administrative Assistant to the Dean in his/her role as the principal contact for the Office of the Dean. Accordingly, the Work Assistant will help the Dean's Office in its daily functions, assist staff with tasks such as filing, preparing for and executing events, and greeting visitors, all while maintaining the image and standards of the law school.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: performing basic office duties, conducting research, keeping the Dean's Suite organized and tidy, planning and executing events, setting up for meetings, performing receptionist duties when needed, running errands both on and off campus, and assisting other law school administrators as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) degree from a four-year college or university
  • Must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a graduate degree program
  • Possess a professional demeanor
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in handling confidential and sensitive information with integrity and discretion

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop while working law school events
  • Occasionally lift 10 or fewer pounds


WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It has good lighting and the noise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

May occasionally need to drive personal vehicle on and off campus to run errands.
