Job Summary

This full-time (1.0 FTE) position is dedicated to managing Michigan Medicine?s participation in the 340B Drug Purchasing Program. The 340B Program Manager will assist the 340B Program Assistant Director with monitoring the Programs compliance and optimizing savings capture. This position will provide day-to-day oversight and management of 340B Team members. This is a hybrid position with minimum 1 day of onsite work required. The onsite work requirement is subject to change based on needs of the team and Department.

Responsibilities*
  • Assists 340B Program Assistant Director with daily operation and monitoring of the 340B drug purchasing program.
  • Significantly contributes to program audits to ensure 340B compliance to HRSA and OPA regulations.
  • Assists with development and implementation of new policies and procedures involving the 340B program.
  • Assists with development and implementation of process improvements to ensure compliance and enhance discount capture.
  • Develops, executes, and documents self-audits of the 340B process. Assists with coordination of remediation of findings.
  • Evaluates and recommends opportunities for cost savings and business improvements in the 340B contract pharmacy utilization.
  • Assists with financial reporting, controls and oversight of contract pharmacy relationships, mixed use utilization, and owned pharmacy reporting.
  • Completes HRSA recertification, registration, and termination updates.
  • Responds to external audits, in conjunction with 340B Program Assistant Director and 340B Team members.
  • Monitors utilization records and 340B purchasing accounts to ensure that software or tools are working properly and accurately, performing audits or compliance assessments internally as needed.
  • Organizes regular touchpoints between 340B Team members, internal 340B stakeholders, and external partners (e.g. Third-Party Administrator, Contract Pharmacy representatives, consultants).
  • Provides formal supervision of 340B Team analysts.

Additional Skills & Abilities :
  • Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with internal and external constituents and apply a high degree of analytical, sensitivity, interpretive and evaluative skills dealing with complex concepts, projects, etc.
  • Ability to teach 340B team on topics in database maintenance, finance and controls.
  • Possess foundational knowledge, understanding, and experience in business, compliance finance or accounting.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work well with teams across Michigan Medicine and external to the organization.
  • Must have effective organizational skills and flexibility to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to support business decisions in a dynamic and constantly changing environment, independently and with confidence.
  • Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Strong presentation, analytical techniques, and computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office.

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and reasonable professional experience with some prior management, supervisory or team leader experience
  • Five or more years of experience in 340B compliance and auditing.
  • 340B Apexus Certified Expert (ACE) certification


Desired Qualifications*
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in health system pharmacy and/or finance.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Experience with pharmacy financial topics including knowledge of 340B program regulatory and compliance procedures as well as program issues, trends, and challenges.
  • Experience working with regulatory compliance, contracting, financial analysis, large databases and internal control processes.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record, MiChart, QS1, or similar electronic record systems are preferred.
