Administrative Specialist Trainee 1 (NS): A bachelor's or higher degree.

Administrative Specialist Trainee 2 (NS): A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience providing administrative and staff support to executives, program managers and staff, boards, or commissions by overseeing budget, human resources, and business services activities for an organization or program. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience.

Administrative Specialist 1(G-18): A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience providing administrative and staff support to executives, program managers and staff, boards, or commissions by overseeing budget, human resources, and business services activities for an organization or program. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience utilizing Statewide Financial System (SFS). Knowledge of OSC's Guide to Financial Operations (GFO) and NYS Travel rules.

Duties Description Within the Bureau of Accounts Management (BAM) Travel Unit, the Administrative Specialist will include:
- Internal communication with travelers, supervisors and cardholders regarding travel rules and address travelers' inquiries;
- External communication with other state agencies and travel-related vendor partners;
- Outreach to cardholders and their supervisors with reminders for timely transaction reconciliation, escalation, and enforcement;
- Managing new travel card applications ensuring requirements are met, reviewing and approving requests, conducting periodic reviews of cardholders data;
- Collection and analysis of travel related data, dissemination of travel rules and guidelines, and training on travel related topics;
- Problem solving of expense report processing issues, assistance to travelers on travel and travel card related issues

Additional Comments This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.
