Summary

This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS), Boston Area Office or New York Regional Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of performing ad hoc research related to personnel and administrative policies and procedures, compiling data for distribution to divisional stakeholders, and responding to administrative-related inquiries.

Duties

At the full performance level, major duties include:

  • Maintains tracking data related to detail assignments, commission status, Technical Evaluation test dates/scores, transfers, rotational/return right positions, and monitors reports on Examiner progression tracking and appointment tenure dates.
  • Initiates job requisitions for vacancy announcements and initiates and reviews personnel actions for conversions, reassignments, promotions, resignations, retirements, etc.
  • Coordinates the pre-exit clearance process for departing and transferring employees and coordinates the region's Examiner Credentialing Tracking System.
  • Assists RAS in providing direct advice and guidance to the Administrative Assistant Regional Director (AARD), senior management, and other supervisors throughout the region on various policy and procedural aspects of administrative programs.
  • Assists in overseeing the region's incentive award expenditures; prepares and distributes monthly award budget reports for each supervisor and senior management.
  • Transacts expenditures using a corporate procurement credit card and convenience checks, and performs monthly reconciliation of these expenditures.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-05 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support, preparing written documents using word processing software, and maintaining reports using spreadsheet software.

OR

One full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement.

OR

A COMBINATION of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.

Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office at least 1 day per pay period beginning January 2, 2024, and at their supervisor's direction to support mission and project needs. In person reporting requirements are expected to increase in July 2024.

The range of pay shown includes base pay plus supplemental locality adjustments. The locality rates for these duty locations range from a low of 33.01% to a high of 40.07%.   • Ability to analyze and evaluate information to determine accuracy and make recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate in writing.
  • Knowledge of the Corporation's directives, circulars, and other guidelines pertaining to corporate communications, administration, human resources management, facilities, etc., and how these management services relate to specific division operational needs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with people, including all levels of management, supervisors, employees, and outside contacts.
  • Ability to communicate orally.
  • Knowledge of budgeting principles and the Corporation's accounting codes, directives, and policy regarding the budget process, and the ability to implement necessary instructions to comply with regulations and corporate policy.
