Job Summary

Responds immediately to critical events. Adjusts staffing levels to ensure the highest level of patient care. Functions as a clinical and administrative resource for the nursing staff. Assists staff with conflict resolution (i.e. staff/physician, patient/physician, staff/staff). Advocates for patients, families, and staff. Supports other departments to meet patient needs.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
  • Associates degree in Nursing required. BS degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current RN registration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required


Minimum Work Experience
  • Three - four years acute care experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in management and / or leadership role required

Minimum Licenses and Certifications
  • AHA CPR certified required
  • ACLS required

  • Responds immediately to critical events
  • Provides leadership and follow - up during critical events such as code blue, code red and code 100.
  • Provides appropriate follow - up (i.e. staff education, documentation, family / staff support, etc.)
  • Adjusts staffing levels to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  • Evaluates staffing needs continuously and adjusts as necessary to meet the needs of the patient for the current and next shifts.
  • Functions as a clinical and administrative resource for the nursing staff.
  • Functions as a clinical and administrative resource for the nursing staff.
  • Provides clinical consultation, advice and education.
  • Assists staff with problems.
  • Completes all employee performance evaluations by evaluation due dates.
  • Assists staff with conflict resolution (i.e. staff / physician, patient / physician, staff / staff).
  • Mediates conflict.
  • Reports and communicates situation appropriately.
  • Advocates for patients, families, and staff.
  • Intervenes on patient / staff behalf.
  • Supports patients' rights.
  • Supports other departments to meet patient needs.
  • Maintains operations of other departments during non-operating hours.
  • Functions as an administrative resource for other departments during non-operative hours.
