Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with an emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.
ESH invites applications for the position of Admissions Coordinator in our Admissions Suite.
This position coordinates and schedules admissions to include Civil, Forensic, Adult, and Geriatric populations to the facility. Keeps upprised of New Mental Health Law as it applies to admissions procedures. Oversees the management of patient valuables and the property room. Screens admission packets for required information and completeness. Reports directly to the Admissions Suite RN Manager. Directly supervises Admission Clerk and Hearings Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.
Experience in psychiatric forensic admission coordination.
Experience with reviewing patient referral packets and assessing the patients' appropriateness for admission.
Experience working in the mental health field, including direct service to mental health patients.
