Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 2014 and provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a 60-bed free-standing psychiatric hospital. We offer diverse inpatient, residential and intensive outpatient programs for children and adolescents.

In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.

The Hospital is looking for an Admissions Coordinator who would be responsible for a variety of duties related to the processing of patient admissions. The Admissions Coordinator will coordinate admission date and process the admission of a new patient. Meeting with the patient and parent/guardian to complete the admission packet, obtain legal signatures, and completing the initial patient psycho-social and ensure all signatures are obtained. This position sorts and distributes paperwork once legal signatures are obtained; takes and distributes photos of each patient and intake sheet to the appropriate staff. The Admissions Coordinator assists the Utilization Management Coordinator with authorization and documentation prep. The Admissions Coordinator will also screen incoming calls regarding the placement of a patient and assist the department director with ensuring all admissions tasks and activities are done completely and accurately.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Human Services field required. Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Human Services field preferred.
  • Current professional license from the State of Florida, such as LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LMFTI or LMHCI preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
  • Medium demand, mentally. Requires extensive time sitting, writing, and talking on telephone. Ability to assist in crisis intervention, physical intervention with out of control patients. Must be able to participate in and complete Handle With Care Training on an annual basis.
