Responsibilities

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital at Bethany (a UHS facility): A 56-bed psychiatric hospital offering adult behavioral health programs and treatment services. Our team of dedicated professionals provides crisis stabilization and medication management to patients who have disorders such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, paranoia and schizophrenia.

We provide a secure haven for patients who are having suicidal or homicidal thoughts. We can help patients regain their sense of self-worth. Our adult inpatient mental health treatment is for individuals over the age of 18 with severe mental illness that is impacting their ability to function.

The Admissions Coordinator assists Admissions Clinicians with telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordination of the referral and intake process, determining appropriate level of care, facilitating the admission process and maintaining communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. Provides reception coverage as needed. Promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Cedar Ridge. Performs duties in accordance with the facility's mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Qualifications

  • Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population desired, preferably in an inpatient setting
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelors Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of hospital admissions functions, crisis intervention adn risk assessment preferred
  • Shift 11pm-7:30am Monday - Friday
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Successfully complete a drug test
  • Successfully pass a national background check
  • Physical agility to manage patients
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior
  • Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste
