Data is integral to nearly everything that we do at AbleTo, and as a result the advanced analytics team plays a key role at our company. While primarily in charge of all financial ROI related analyses, the analytics team specializes in statistical modeling helpful to our internal stakeholders and analyses beyond population health studies. You should understand the causal inference framework and methodology intimately and be able to speak about the differences and limitations in the methodologies. You should be excited to work with data, have the curiosity to dive deeply into issues, and feel empowered to make a meaningful impact at a mission-driven company. You will be a critical business partner to operational leaders at AbleTo, helping them to analyze the impact of AbleTo programs, understand which members engage, assess ROI of various programs, as well as opportunities to support the data science team in improving the targeting of members for outreach. This position reports to the Senior Director of Advanced Analytics with exposure to Marketing, Enterprise Growth and Operational teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own the relationships and work cross functionally with internal teams to develop new analyses and studies based on business needs
  • Act as a consultant as it relates to analytic planning for internal stakeholders
    • Fully review and document analytic plan and timeline prior to engaging in any study
  • Oversee the development of new analytic models, methods, capabilities and features to improve outcomes analyses and team members' learning and growth
  • Drive the analytic strategy and new functionality to support upcoming business needs and current initiatives
    • Drive the execution of OKRs and planning for value-add initiatives
  • Lead the advanced analytics arm of client reporting:
    • Lead project prioritization and project management for client related requests
    • Identify process improvements and streamline data cohort development and feature engineering steps
    • Ensure high quality results that are fully reviewed and accurate to the best of the team's collective knowledge
    • Own overall roadmap and OKRs related to client analytics/reporting
  • Drive process improvements and efficient cross functional coordination
  • Simplify and effectively communicate complex concepts and results to non-analytical internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead and manage a growing team of analyst(s): Coaching and Mentoring, Goal Setting, Growing the team in skills and people

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in healthcare analytics applying causal inference methodologies
  • 3+ years project management experience
  • Experience with medical and pharmacy claims data and data sources
  • Experienced in statistical analysis and research methods
  • Knowledge of health analytic tools and methodologies such as propensity score matching, risk scoring models, episode groupers, condition categories, comorbidity scores, severity adjustments, etc.
  • Fluent in SQL and R/Python
  • Proven self-starter who takes initiative and independently delivers results; a team player who thrives in a cross-functional environment
  • Proven solid project management skills and ability to lead multiple projects and people simultaneously
  • Proven excellent storytelling, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven solid analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualification:

  • Applied statistical skills including regression modeling, longitudinal analysis (including mixed models), data mining, and multiple testing strategies

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
