What You Will Do
We are seeking an outstanding postdoctoral candidate to contribute to projects that will exploit quantum-enhanced methods to visualize single antigen-antibody binding events as well as advance the state of the art in light-sheet imaging. This position will both develop and exploit these new novel optical methods for problems relevant to pathogen detection, host/pathogen interactions, and algal biofuel development.

Education: Ph.D. in an appropriate Engineering discipline, Physics, Biophysics, or Chemistry/Biochemistry completed within the last five years or soon to be completed.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

- Expertise in the development (hardware and software) of novel optical instrumentation
- Experience in optical microscopy or laser spectroscopy
- Demonstrated record of scientific achievement through publications and presentations
- Good communication skills
- Ability to conduct research independently.
Education: Ph.D. in an appropriate Engineering discipline, Physics, Biophysics, or Chemistry/Biochemistry completed within the last five years or soon to be completed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in single photon detection and timing
- Experience with rapid, real-time feedback methods, including field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs)
- Previous experience with writing custom software for data and image analysis
