Surgical Advanced Care Provider, CRNP or PA - Breast Care Program - Full Time, Day Shift

Fox Chase Cancer Center is seeking a Surgical Advance Practice Provider, to join the breast surgery service for the evaluation, management and surgical care of breast patients. The Surgical Breast Care Adult Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (APN/PA) assesses, diagnoses, prescribes therapies, and manages the benign breast patient's and breast cancer patient's diagnosis, treatment, and post-treatment follow up through survivorship.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides surgical care and care coordination, increases patient access and contributes to improved quality for patients across all disciplines in the Temple Health University System with the focus on evaluation and management of the breast surgery patient. The Advanced Practitioner practices medicine on the healthcare team with surgeons and other providers to improve coordination of care and improve patient outcomes. The APP takes medical histories, conducts physical exams, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets tests, develops treatment plans, counsels on preventive care, assists in surgery and writes prescriptions all in accordance with their scope of practice, licensure guidelines, and in collaboration with the supervising physician. Specifically, the surgical APP evaluates patients for possible cancer, educates patients about treatment options, manages Survivor Clinics, and participates in perioperative and acute phases of breast care, involving benign and malignant disease.

Highly competitive candidates have at least one to two years of surgical nursing or practice experience, with possible breast or oncology experience most optimal.

Requirements for CRNP:
Education
Masters Degree : Nursing (Required)

Licenses & Certifications
CRNP - PA Cert Reg Nurse Practitioner (Required)
RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License (Required)
BLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required)
PRX-AUTH - Prescriptive Authority (Preferred)

Experience
1 Year experience in a clinical specialty practice (Preferred)
2 Years experience as a nurse practitioner (Preferred)

Requirements for PA:
Education
Other : Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. (Required)

Experience
1 year experience as a Physician Assistant (Preferred)

License/Certifications
MPA-LIC - PA Medical Physician Asst Lic (Required)
NCCPA - Certified Physician Assistant (Required)
