Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As an Advanced Electrical Engineer, youll participate in electrical requirements analysis and definition, functional analysis, design, integration and verification of electrical components, equipment and systems. The breadth of these projects includes technologies for application in free-space optical (FSO) and fiber optic communications, photonic integrated circuits, active and passive optical remote sensing and imaging.
This position involves interacting with optical, mechanical and software design teams to assist in the overall development of systems; planning and leading electrical engineering root cause analysis for electrical issues, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to formulate and implement solutions to issues, contributing to the generation and maintenance of documentation, specifying, selecting and qualifying active and passive components; developing and benchmarking system performance models; developing and implementing test procedures, and evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently to determine approaches to challenges and will provide leadership and direction to less experienced team members.

What You Bring to the Table:
- Proficient experience in the use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design tools and processes
- Ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to electrical engineering design.
- Experience with circuit design software such as Siemens Xpedition, Eagle, or Altium Designer, electronic simulation software such as LTSpice, Cadence or Hyperlynx
- Familiarity with MATLAB, LabVIEW, or C/C++
- Experience with high-speed circuit design with signaling at 10 Gbps or above
- RF and/or analog circuit analysis, including signal conditioning, analog-to-digital conversion, and mixed-signal circuit card design
- Power electronics experience, including switching power supplies, power entry modules, and transient suppression
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and multi-task
- Outstanding communication skills
