Silotech Group is seeking an experienced Offensive Cyber Security Instructor. This role is crucial for our Security Operations team, focusing on advanced penetration testing, red team operations, and cutting-edge exploitation techniques.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing and teaching complex offensive security tasks, from network and web application vulnerabilities to advanced hardware and IoT exploitation. The candidate will possess a deep passion for cybersecurity, a commitment to ongoing learning, and the ability to train on emerging threats and technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge security training platforms and contribute to the advancement of offensive cyber security professionals.

This role involves international travel. The candidate must be comfortable living abroad for up to 6 months at a time, and possess the ability and willingness for international travel.

Essential Role and Responsibilities
  • Perform classroom instruction to a maximum of 12 students.
  • Instruct, prepare, review, and provide continued support for RED TEAM OCO training courses.
  • Serve as assistant or primary Instructor. Collaborate with current Silotech Group personnel to establish acceptable instructor practices and classroom management.
  • Manage and maintain accountability of the classroom during instruction.
  • Audit developed courseware for accuracy, completeness, flow, balance, and clarity of understanding to ensure it imparts the maximum amount of value in the minimum amount of time.
  • Attend meetings to give updates, request support and receive direction regarding class delivery and maintenance.

Qualifications:

Education:

A strong background in computer science, cybersecurity and related fields. Advanced degrees (Master's or Ph.D.) can be an added advantage but are not required. Practical experience is key.

Experience:
  • The instructor should have extensive hands-on experience ( 5+ years) in offensive security, including penetration testing, red teaming, and vulnerability research.
  • Experience in conducting offensive operations against a variety of targets, such as critical infrastructure, financial institutions, and government agencies, is highly valuable.
  • Proficiency in developing custom offensive tools and frameworks, such as custom C2 frameworks, malware, and exploit development, is essential.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages commonly used in offensive security, such as Python, C, C++, Bash, PowerShell, and Assembly.
  • Deep understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), networking, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Mastery of industry-standard offensive security tools like Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, and others.
  • Prior experience in teaching or training cybersecurity professionals.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. This includes strong written and verbal communication skills for creating training materials and delivering lectures.
  • Experience in speaking at industry conferences, workshops, and other professional events to demonstrate proficiency and confidence in public speaking.
  • Experience with continuous and integrated assessment techniques to gauge student progress and adjust training accordingly.
  • Utilization of peer review and collaborative learning approaches to enhance the training experience.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, tools, and techniques. This includes participating in ongoing professional development and contributing to the cybersecurity community.
  • Ability to adapt training content to the latest trends and emerging threats in cybersecurity, ensuring that the training remains relevant and up-to-date.
  • Adherence to ethical guidelines and legal standards in offensive security operations.
  • A professional demeanor and the ability to foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students.

Certifications:
  • Possess appropriate certification(s) for the courses instructing:
  • Net+, Sec+, CISSP, CASP,CISM, CEH,
  • Computer Network Defense Analyst (CND-A)
  • Computer Network Defense Infrastructure Support (CND-IS)
  • Computer Network Defense Incident Responder (CND-IR)
  • Computer Network Defense Auditor (CND-AU)
