Participates in a collegial relationship with the physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals in the Gastroenterology Division.
The provider will . coordinate care of direct access referrals from other physicians or practices
Triages direct access referrals to either direct endoscopy, urgent tele visit with themselves with early follow up endoscopy by physician, or office visit with physician
Discusses care and follow up with coordinating physicians
Follows up on all medical clearances, and pertinent tests to ensure that patients can have safe endoscopic exams in a timely fashion
Is able to determine safe pre endoscopy clearance, including the need for a PAT evaluation
Follows up on post endoscopy recommendations including the coordination of follow up exams, endoscopy or necessary medications
Follow up on endoscopic pathology and direct patient to pertinent referrals at the discretion of the supervising physician

Required Skills & Experience

2-3+ years of APN experience
NP certified in NJ
MSN (Masters Degree in Nursing)
Comfortable treating patients within a GI clinic and educating residents and studen physicians

EPIC experience
