Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) will plan, organize, and direct the care of patients seen at UT Tyler's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in collaboration with and under the supervision of the attending physician. This position may act autonomously as determined by practice protocols established within the department between the supervising physician(s). This position serves as a representative of IOP and must be able to communicate effectively and maintain strict client confidentiality.
Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
• Program development and coordination, clinical practice, and research.
• Provides patient care to assigned patients which may include assessment, development, and implementation of a treatment plan; patient/family education.
• Serves as a team member in providing continuity of healthcare.
• Other duties as assigned.
Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• The ideal candidate will have experience delivering high-quality, client-centered care, and must be able to document and navigate in the EHR independently.
• This position requires the APP to utilize their skills to evaluate and treat patients with various mental health diagnoses that vary in complexity.
Qualifications
Required Education / Experience:
• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant's program or a master's degree in advanced nurse practice (APRN) is required.
• Licensed Physician Assistant or an RN licensure as advanced practice nurse from the Texas State Board of Nursing Examiners.
• Certification to provide mental health treatment, such as PMHNP preferred.
• Certification to provide addiction treatment, preferred.
• BLS Certification is required.
