Responsibilities

Oklahoma Heart Hospital is looking for an experienced Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider to join the practice of Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Hameed.

As a Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. This role requires advanced clinical knowledge, excellent decision-making skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

  • Conduct thorough cardiac assessments, including medical history review, physical exams, and diagnostic tests interpretation.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with cardiac conditions, in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations.
  • Prescribe medications, adjust dosages, and monitor patients' responses to treatment.
  • Educate patients and their families on cardiac health, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventive measures.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  • Provide follow-up care to monitor patients' progress, address concerns, and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, assessments, treatments, and progress notes.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in cardiac care through continuing education, conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to legal and ethical standards of practice, including patient confidentiality, informed consent, and documentation guidelines.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner: National certification from a national certifying body acceptable by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.

Physician Assistant: Baccalaureate degree with a minimum of two years of college credit or graduate from ARC-PA (Accreditation Review Commission on education for the Physician Assistant) approved program. Current license as a Physician Assistant with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure. BLS certification required.

Education:
  • Current certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-AC NP or Acute Care NP) preferred, Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in cardiology preferred.
  • State licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in cardiology or a related field.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to interpret complex cardiac tests and imaging studies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems EPIC and other healthcare technologies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice in cardiac care.

Licensure/Certification: Current BLS certification required. ACLS certification within 60 days of hire.



Experience: Cardiology experience preferred.
