Ascension Medical Group is looking for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our elite team!

We are looking for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant for the near site employer based center in Detroit, MI.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Medical Group and a large local employer to participate as a member of an integrated primary care team. Our multidisciplinary center includes Physical Therapy, Behavioral Health, Dietitian and Pharmacist support as well as Primary Care for adults and children. Services include diagnostic imaging, lab, some pharmaceutical dispensing, and point of care testing.

Position Highlights:

  • Part-Time Schedule
  • Hours of Operation:
    • Monday-Friday 7am-7pm
    • Saturday 7am-3pm
  • Completely renovated space with all new equipment and furnishings
  • Types of primary care visits include preventive care, chronic condition management, acute care, virtual visits and vaccines

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Physician Assistant:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.


Nurse Practitioner:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education:

Physician Assistant:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.

  • Must be comfortable working independently.
