AdventHealth Medical Group, Rocky Mountain Region is seeking an OB//GYN Hospitalist Physician in our Castle Rock Area.

AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) is a sister organization of AdventHealth with over 600 Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers in 27 individual service lines in Colorado. We have 5 hospitals, 8 freestanding emergency and urgent care centers and 6 ambulatory surgery centers. This aligned model and practice management experience provides the opportunity for the clinicians to focus on the clinical aspects of medicine.

Qualifications
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology

  • Current, unrestricted full license to practice medicine in Colorado
  • Current Colorado DEA Licensure
  • Ability to work with and supervise one Advanced practice provider (APN or PA)

Qualifications
  • OBGYN Hospitalists shall provide in-house physician coverage, including evaluation and treatment, admission, and on-going inpatient management services, for unassigned patients within the emergency department in labor and delivery, OB ED, and Hospital floors.
  • Evaluation, treatment, and admission for all obstetric patients (both unassigned and assigned) with acute complaints in the OB ED for Hospital twenty-four (24) hours per day, three hundred sixty-five (365) days per year.
  • Assume care for all hospital floor consults when requested.
  • Respond to all unassigned "walk-in" obstetrical and gynecological calls or consults in the OBGYN Emergency Department or elsewhere in the Hospital and enter orders as appropriate in accordance with Hospital Policies.
    • This also includes gynecologic surgeries, and emergencies.
  • Provide evaluation, treatment, admission, and ongoing inpatient management services to patients of private physicians with obstetric, gynecological, or emergent needs, upon request and dependent on safe availability of a Physician, and reciprocal billing and non-reciprocal billing upon request.
  • Assist with Labor management and ultrasound when needed for patient care and safety.
  • Provide appropriate and ongoing communication with community OBGYN physicians where indicated, including review of fetal heart tones.
  • Act as surgical assist to OBGYN physicians upon request and as availability allows accounting for prioritization of duties to care for the most emergent patients first.
  • Provide emergency lifesaving care for OB and GYN patients until primary provider becomes available or in house.
  • Physician is on-site within hospital grounds for the entire shift.
  • Provide appropriate oversight and clinical teaching of medical students, residents, fellows and other potential learners.
  • When applicable, help coordinate and accept transfer of care obstetric, and gynecologic patients.
  • Coordination of discharge planning needs with the OBGYN patient, the patient's family and the case manager/discharge planner. Physicians will advise and assist Hospital staff regarding efficient and effective discharge planning and appropriate services.
  • Act as supervising physician for all midwife practices with privileges at the institution, and all patients admitted under their name.
