An employer in the Dayton, OH area is seeking an Aero Structural Design/Mechanical Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity. This individual will be responsible but not limited to the following: utilize engineering skills to help develop next generation defense technology and tools to support and impact the warfighter. Will design aircraft components to support stress analysis, load prediction, structural forecasting and analysis for new and innovative solutions. Will work with the prototype design team that evaluates new technologies, performs risk assessments and improve the design of aerospace systems. Will be required to sit on site 5 days/week and ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance.

Required Skills & Experience

2+ years of experience in composite structural design, analysis and fabrication (working with composite materials) with aircraft structures

Experience using design software Solid works (preferred), CATIA, Pro-Engineer, AUTOCAD or UG

Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering

Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Master's Degree

Active Secret Clearance

Unmanned Aircraft experience

Knowledge of manufacturing and design techniques and procedures
