Americas Delivery Lead

The Americas Delivery Lead co-owns end-to-end delivery of business solutions for the scope of the Americas Underwriting (UW) Delivery Team alongside Transformation & Change Delivery (TCD). S/he understands the Americas underwriting business strategy, needs and challenges of the business partners s/he supports as well as the end-to-end processes for those businesses. Oversees all applications supporting the Americas UW team to ensure service levels are received and system changes are delivered to expectation. Accountable for the design, delivery, and support of Americas UW solutions.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Project and Delivery Leadership: Lead the planning, execution and delivery of new and steady state Americas UW initiatives from initiation to post implementation support, ensuring alignment with business goals and respective project objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams and external partners to understand application functionality, gather requirements, provide project updates and address any stakeholder concerns throughout the application/project delivery.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively including project team members BAU/support colleagues, budget and technology assets to optimize application and project delivery.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to application delivery, develop risk mitigation strategies and proactively address challenges to minimize project and production disruptions to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control processes, standards and best practices to ensure the Americas underwriting applications align with AXA XL regulatory and security standards.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers involved in Americas UW application delivery, including but not limited to performance monitoring, adherence to SLAs, service management alignment and alignment to delivery of projects and support of BAU applications.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor AXA XL colleagues within the Americas UW Delivery team. Work to foster a collaborative & high performing working culture by promoting the use of SAFE Agile practices. Provide guidance, feedback and support to help team members achieve their professional goals and contribute to success within the Americas UW Delivery Function.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in both technology, underwriting processes and application delivery. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team and across the organization to enhance efficiency, productivity & increase customer satisfaction.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:



• 8-10 years of experience in planning and executing complex, large scale initiatives or operational area. Preference given to those with Scaled Agile Framework experience.



• Significant leadership experience in both Americas underwriting and IT



• Budget, supply, and resource management for in scope applications and services



• Hold suppliers accountable for performance against Service Levels



• Ensure appropriate SoWs / SLAs exist for all development vendor engagements



• Measurable improvements in service delivery over time



• Internal and external audit support



• Knowledge Management strategy for process, training and applications



• Strong communication skills, particularly on key matters relating to the application grouping to stakeholders



• Proven planning and organization skills, creating own work schedules, prioritizing workload, preparing in advance and setting realistic timescales.



• Adaptable to new/different strategies, programs, technologies, practices, cultures, etc. Comfortable with change, able to easily make transitions.
