As a Guidance Manager within the Anti-Money Laundering Governance & Advisory team, you will work to mitigate money laundering and illicit finance risks to assure that Citizens businesses are in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies. Your role will work to support and lead key efforts overseeing and executing the Citizens AML & Sanctions programs. You will provide enterprise level governance and business line guidance for complying with applicable regulations and requirements along with contributing to strategic program initiatives. You will work with the other AML Colleagues as a key individual contributor to assure program management activities are executed, to identify business needs, emerging risks, strategize, and develop standards and approaches to assure the Citizens AML & Sanctions Program and businesses are complying with business and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will work on initiatives leveraging innovation in the fight against financial crime to identify process improvements and opportunities for improving program effectiveness. Primary responsibilities include
  • Contribute to the review and periodic updates of the CFG AML & Sanctions Policy/Programs.
  • Define methodologies, frameworks, and compliance standards for implementation of Program requirements.
  • Research and analyze AML & Sanctions risk trends including industry benchmarking to prepare for and monitor upstream risks and issues.
  • Interpret and review regulations and guidance, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA Patriot Act, as well as bulletins and correspondence from Regulatory agencies detailing BSA, AML, and OFAC requirements and expectations.
  • Serve as an independent advisor to assigned business unit and risk management. participate in business support, risk and strategy meetings and provide AML risk advice and guidance.
  • Coordinate and perform enterprise and business line risk assessments and compliance reviews to assure AML & Sanctions compliance policies and risk controls are appropriate.
  • Assure that issues that arise through compliance monitoring are promptly addressed and reviewed; inform all necessary parties of issues and implement solutions based on recommendations.
  • Work closely with business lines as they launch new products and services or undertake technology projects in order to ensure that AML and Sanctions risks are appropriately measured, documented, and mitigated to the extent possible prior to launch, and during the lifecycle of the product or service.
  • Collaborate with technology partners to identify and implement complex solutions that meet strategic Enterprise and Program needs and align to regulatory expectations.
  • Manage internal assurance, audit, and regulatory AML and Sanctions examinations.
  • Provide support for established AML and Sanctions governance committees, including preparation of committee materials and BI development and maintenance.

Qualifications:
  • 5-6 years relevant work experience with AML, risk, compliance, or audit functions within the financial services industry preferred.
  • Experience in an organization that is under strong regulatory oversight and scrutiny.
  • Expert knowledge of internal controls and risk assessment
  • Strong written, verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with an emphasis on problem solving, conflicting objectives, and dealing with multiple stakeholders as well as varying levels within an organization both internally and externally.
  • Deep understanding of banking products and operations; regulatory requirements; and key processes, controls and exposure areas
  • Exhibits strong level of knowledge of commercial banking, commercial products, treasury solutions, risk, and administration practices and processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain high impact relationships with other teams and senior executives.

  • Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint and Visio

Educations/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Certifications Preferred: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager, Certified Fraud Examiner

Hours & Work Schedule: 1 days in the office, 4 working from home

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $150,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
