GENERAL PURPOSE:

As a result of the company's continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Analyst for our Tax team. This role would be primarily responsible for timely and accurate monthly preparation and filing of Sales and Use tax returns, researching sales tax rates and issues regarding the compliance process and new business initiatives, maintaining supporting accounts and records, responding to notices related to sales and use tax and income tax, assisting with income tax compliance and audits, and creating a collaborative partnership with Corporate Accounting, Sales Audit, Treasury, IT, and Account Payable departments.

The base salary range for this role is $75,700 - $113,650. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Ensure the company's state sales and use tax returns are reconciled to ledger, prepared, submitted for review, filed, and paid timely each month.
• Assist with multi-state audits associated with the sales and use tax returns, and ensure compliance with audit requests.
• Research and problem-solving sales and use tax issues.
• Perform monthly rate research and analysis for new and existing stores using BNA, CCH, TTR, and information/websites provided by DOR and localities.
• Collaborate with internal business partners and external tax advisers to ensure proper tax reporting with states/localities, point of sale, and PeopleSoft.
• Prepare and review journal entries related to compliance process, in accordance with GAAP, the Company's accounting policies, and internal controls.
• Evaluate systems and procedures and suggest changes to improve productivity and enhance systems.
• Evaluate Sales and Use tax reporting and make recommendations regarding improvements in the timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy of the Company's existing procedures.
• Assist with income tax compliance on an as needed basis.
• Assist manager with sales & use tax and income tax audits, as required.
• Special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• A four-year degree in Finance or Accounting or tax equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of sales and use tax and/or income tax experience.
• Experience performing tax preparation, filing, research, and review.
• Proficient with processing large amounts of data in Microsoft Excel (V-lookups, pivot tables, macros, etc.)
• Detail oriented, with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
• Ability to respond to changing priorities.
• Prefer experience with PeopleSoft, BNA, CCH, TTR

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
This role requires regular in-office presence, including attending in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
