Do you want to help transform an industry? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a creative and self-motivated Business Analyst to join our Financial Services Business Operations and Analytics Team. This role is based in the United States and is part of a global team focused on helping financial institutions of all types and sizes reinvent themselves through cloud adoption.

In this role you will support the operational cadence of the business, which includes (1) developing metrics and tools to drive business decisions; (2) performing data mining to uncover customer insights; (3) partnering with internal stakeholders to identify customer opportunities; and (4) independently develop and maintain visual analytics dashboards. The ideal candidate is a natural problem solver, with strong organizational skills and a deep analytical background to support the continued growth of the business.

This position will assist Financial Services Specialists in evaluating and forecasting business opportunities. To do this, you will use SQL and various CRM tools to derive well-vetted analyses and execute ad-hoc requests and reports as needed.

This individual will need to collaborate effectively with internal end-users and cross-functional teams to solve problems, implement new reporting solutions, and deliver successfully against high standards. Successful candidates for this role will have a proven work ethic and a track record of delivering results, with an ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical professionals across multiple geographies.

Key job responsibilities

• \tSupport development of continuously-evolving forecast models and methodologies, supporting the quantitative analysis of the performance of our sales teams, customers, prospects, partners, markets, and products/services.

• \tDevelop relationships and partner with sales, partner, finance, HR, sales operations, and other stakeholders to identify and address reporting issues.

• \tAssist Financial Services Specialists in all aspects of evaluating their teams' performance.

• \tIdentify reporting issues and gaps in processes, and then resolve them.

• \tSupport the design and implementation of reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.

• \tDevelop and drive critical business metrics to monitor and optimize the business.

• \tDrive awareness and develop learning materials to ensure adoption of dashboards and reports.

• \tSupport data maintenance across multiple datasets.

• \tPrepare ad-hoc analyses and participate in projects as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., AWS QuickSight or Tableau) or open-source project

- 5+ years of Microsoft Excel experience

- Experience developing and implementing systems/tools utilized for CRM, variable compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, Salesforce automation, etc.

- Intermediate SQL knowledge.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working within a high-growth, technology company

- Advanced SQL knowledge to process complex datasets from multiple sources and experience with data analytics.

- Sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership of projects.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent cross group collaboration skills.

- Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language for automation of data extraction, processing, and computation.

- Experience working with AWS products (Amazon Redshift, Amazon QuickSight, Amazon S3, for example).

- Ability to operate independently in a lean, fast-paced organization

- Demonstrated ability to define, refine, and implement processes, procedures, and policies.

- Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations.

- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

- Experience developing business analytics or equivalent

- Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

- Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

- 5+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
