Responsibilities
- Works in a collaborative role to facilitate patient safety. Ensures anesthesia techs who work in the service line are following regulatory requirements. Acts as a technical lead to ensure best practice in patient care is met in quality metrics.
- Prepares anesthetizing locations before each procedure according to departmental policies. Responsible for the daily organization of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies required for the service, including equipment that may be on loan, trial or consignment.
- Turns over anesthetizing locations in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assists in planning educational activities and staff development programs. Reports any performance issues immediately to the OR Nurse Supervisor. Documents any performance issues identified
- Acts as a resource for other departments in emergency situation. Demonstrates clinical/technical competency. Promotes staff and patient satisfaction.
- Ability to work varied shifts. Takes clinical call.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Current BLS certification
- Two to four years OR/CVOR experience
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Certified Anesthesia Tech
- Knowledge and skill of the function and handling of supportive/adaptive patient equipment and devices
