Job Summary
Assists Anesthesiologist with patient care as required. Cleans, assembles and stocks materials, anesthesia equipment and machines. Conducts light maintenance of anesthesia equipment. Essential Functions
Assist Anesthesiologist with patient induction. Includes application of assessment monitors and pre-oxygenation, intubation and maintenance of oxygen mask until secured by anesthesiologist. Assist anesthesiologist with epidurals, spinals and regional blocks. Includes gathering supplies per established protocol, assisting with patient positioning and disinfecting and removing equipment upon conclusion of the procedure. Assist in cleaning and restocking anesthesia supplies and equipment in operating rooms after each procedure. Includes removing and disposing of trash per established protocols. Remove used equipment and deliver to decontamination room. Cleans operating room bed, lights, floor and anesthesia machine as per established protocols. Prepares anesthesia circuit, monitoring equipment and suction for patient care. Gather additional equipment as needed for patient care. Performs first level service and maintenance of equipment. Performs daily leak testing on anesthesia machines. Troubleshoots equipment problems as needed. Transporting and delivery. Transports patients to and from operating room. Transports blood and blood products, lab samples and specimens to and from operating room as needed. Maintain ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office (Outlook) and department specific software applications as needed to perform work. Communicate effectively and cooperatively in the workplace. Actively contribute to the achievement of Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities. Complete all mandatory learning requirements in a timely manner. Maintain current licensure and/or certification as required. Attend and actively participate in all department, team and/or committee meetings. Comply with all Skagit Regional Health, department and location specific policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.

Education
High School graduate or GED required.

Experience/Training
One (1) year experience in a Surgical Services environment preferred.

License/Certifications
Current American Heart Association (AHA) healthcare provider BLS required. Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Anesthesia Technician Certification preferred.

Other Skills
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications to perform work. Well-developed problem solving skills required. Must be able to effectively prioritize workload amongst frequent interruptions with competing priorities. Knowledge of central service supplies and basic aseptic technique and infection control practices required. Ability to coordinate work schedule with requirements of position (may include overtime and weekend work).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
