Anesthesia Associate Professor Leadership Position for Surgical Pain & Regional Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children's

Exempt position Salary commensurate with experience:

The Department of Anesthesia at Cincinnati Children's is looking for a highly skilled and experienced pediatric anesthesiologist at the Clinical Faculty level of Associate, or Professor to lead the Division of Surgical Pain Service and Regional Anesthesia. The successful candidate will be an employee of Cincinnati Children's, with an academic appointment through the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine commensurate with their qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities for this role are:

- Develop and implement clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices for surgical pain management and regional anesthesia.

- Provide clinical expertise in managing complex surgical pain cases and performing advanced regional anesthesia techniques.

- Oversee and coordinate the activities of the surgical pain service, including inpatient and outpatient care.

- Collaborate with surgeons, patient services, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and multidisciplinary patient care.

- Drive innovation in pain management and regional anesthesia through research and quality improvement initiatives.

- Develop and implement educational programs and workshops for regional anesthesia and pain management.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards related to surgical pain management and regional anesthesia.

- Monitor the quality, effectiveness, safety and patient family experience with the surgical pain service, implementing improvements as needed.

They will work in conjunction with the Vice Chief for Pain, Equity and Innovation, Chronic Pain and Palliative Pain Management Division Directors.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

- Must have an M.D., or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

- Currently hold an active unrestricted medical license.

- Board certification in Anesthesiology.

- Fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesia.

- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in anesthesia, with extensive expertise in surgical pain management and regional anesthesia.

- Hold or be eligible for a faculty appointment that aligns with the individual's qualifications and experience.

- Proven record of mentoring and teaching.

- Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with quality improvement initiatives, program development and research in pain management and regional anesthesia.

- Previous leadership experience in a clinical or academic setting
