Job Description

This is a strategic recruitment focused in expanding the University of Maryland School of Medicine's portfolio in biomedical research in alignment of the goals of the Department of Defense (DoD) and Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). This recruitment will help secure incremental federal funding and foster growth in highly targeted areas in basic and translational research. This position will provide leadership and significantly enhance UMSON's capabilities by providing strategic support to faculty investigators, educating them about DoD and other federal funding opportunities, and improving the quality of submissions.

These efforts will not only support innovative research projects but will also enhance teaching and patient care programs by integrating cutting-edge military health technologies and knowledge into these areas. This recruitment is a new initiative aimed at systematically increasing UMSOM's engagement with the DoD health technology research programs. The position will focus on building a robust pipeline of applications, facilitating interdisciplinary collaborations, and establishing a strong presence at relevant DoD conferences and symposia, thereby positioning UMSOM as a leader in military health research.
