The Guthrie Clinic seeks a confident, visionary leader to serve as Program Director for its ACGME-accredited Anesthesia Residency Program in the Twin Tiers of Northern Pennsylvania and Southern New York.

Candidate Requirements

• American Society of Anesthesiologists Board Certified
• Scholarly activity in the form of publications, presentations, or curriculum development
• Prior experience as a Program Director or Associate Director is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years Clinical Practice post-residency/fellowship
• Minimum of 3 years as an active faculty member in an academic practice
• Eligibility for unrestricted PA and NY state licensure
• Possess strong administrative and team-building skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Comprehensive Compensation and Benefits

• $550K to $575K starting salary plus bonus
• $25K starting bonus with a $25K retention bonus each year for the following three years
  $15K quality/citizenship bonus annually
• Six-weeks vacation
• Five personal days per year

• Malpractice/liability insurance, including tail coverage
• Guthrie retirement savings plan (403B) with employer match (1/2 of the first 6% that you invest) and (1-3.5%) age-based contribution each year
• Allowance for licensure fees, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate, and renewals
• $15,000 referral bonus if you refer a physician that we hire full-time.

Career Development

• Meeting time - 14 days with options for home study (up to one week may be converted to vacation time)
• $3400 annually for conference registration certifications and membership fees for specialty-specific medical societies
• Academic appointments are available through the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine

A 254-bed tertiary care referral center, Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA, has received numerous national awards for the high-quality care it provides to patients. The hospital is the region's only Level I Trauma Center, accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation, and is served by Guthrie Air, a regional aeromedical helicopter program.
