Under the direction of the Security Supervisor, the employee provides protection of work sites, personnel, and assets from events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment, and other disruptive incidents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)
  • Greet visitors, receive and route telephone calls, send faxes, and handle deliveries for personnel.
  • Announce visitors to the staff and offer coffee or other beverages to visitors who are waiting to be seen. Enforce front desk procedures: have visitor's sign-in/out and call point of contact to notify of visitor's arrival.
  • Maintain status of personnel entering and leaving the office. Control access of personnel, materials and equipment to and within the work site(s). Take messages if absolutely necessary.
  • Issue and code key fobs to new employees and visitors using Netbox security website.
  • Provide security of work site(s), personnel and assets. Follow safety procedures in the event of assault, theft, vandalism, harassment and other disruptive activities. Perform security patrols of the work site(s).
  • Respond to general alarms, power outages, broken water/power lines and security breaches during business hours. Contact or notify local authorities of any irregularities.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and other commonly used computer programs
  • Observe and report any unauthorized persons or activities.
  • May cooperate or assist Human Resources department in writing any incident reports.
  • Maintain radio/telephone communications.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
  • Willingness to work at various locations as required.
  • Receive, open, date stamp and route incoming mail including overnight pouches. Prepare outgoing mail, including Goldstreak, Fed-Ex, and other parcels.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a high degree of integrity, ethics and credibility.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft programs, ability to use a computer, and learn the badge system.
  • First aid, CPR and AED preferred.
  • The ability to speak and understand the Inupiaq language is important and preferred.
