Position Summary

Repair, adjust, and install all types of commercial appliances

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates and/or performs the repair or installation of commercial appliance equipment. (In particular, kitchen equipment, ice machines, walk-in refrigerators, etc.)
  2. Develops and completes a preventative maintenance program.
  3. Reviews maintenance requests, schedules and performs the necessary maintenance or repairs.
  4. Disassembles appliances to examine specific mechanical and electrical parts to diagnose problem.
  5. Replaces worn and defective parts, such as switches, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, circuit boards, or defective wiring.
  6. Connects appliance to power source and uses test instruments to calibrate timers and thermostats and to adjust contact points.
  7. Traces electrical circuits, following diagram, to locate shorts and grounds, using electrical circuit testers.
  8. Cleans, lubricates, and touches up minor scratches on newly installed or repaired appliances.
  9. Records nature of maintenance or repair in log and returns to facilities office for further assignments.
  10. Assist Supervisor's in maintaining inventory control of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies to Maintain stock of parts used in on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of various appliances used on the property.
  11. Instructs users regarding operation and care of appliance.
  12. Observes and examines appliances during operation to detect specific malfunction, such as loose parts or leaking fluid.
  13. Responsible for entering all work activity into Computerized Asset Management program.
  14. Participates in Facilities Safety program and is responsible to complete all safety training and promote a safe work environment for team members and guests.
  15. Complies with Pueblo, Resort & Casino, and Facilities Department standard operating procedures.
  16. Reflect a kind, empathetic, patient and respectful behavior with all internal and external business dealings.
  17. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

  2. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the repair of commercial appliances.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

Required:
  1. High School Diploma or GED certification.
  2. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  3. Four (4) years pipefitting and electrical experience repairing and/or installing commercial appliances.


Note: Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience.

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver's License.
  2. Refrigeration mechanics certificate is prefered
  3. Plumbing and Electrical licenses is preferred

Grasping

Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Hearing

Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.

Kneeling

Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

Lifting

Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.(Up to 75 lbs.)

Pulling

Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion. (Up to 75 lbs.)

Pushing

Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward. (Up to 75 lbs.)

Reaching

Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Seeing

The ability to perceive the nature of objects by the eye.

Walking

Job requirements include, in the performance of duties, walking throughout the work area, on various work surfaces throughout internal or external locations.

Sitting

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Standing

Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Stooping

Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Working Conditions Required:
  1. Duties are performed indoors and outdoors as required. Outdoor duties are subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather. Work apparel including standard work uniform issued by employer, may require employee to wear other apparel at his own expense to compensate for temperature conditions.
  2. Subject to potential hazards such as cleaning solvents and cleaning compounds.
  3. Subject to potential hazards such as heights, motorized equipment, power tools and loud noise. Personal protection equipment will be required depending on task.
  4. Additional potential hazards include exposure to infections, diseases, fumes, odors, dust, mist, and gases.
  5. Duties may involve walking, climbing, crawling, standing for long periods of time, sitting, crouching, kneeling, running, and the ability to assume a prone position.
  6. Work hours and / or work schedules are subject to change on short notice based solely on business needs. At times overtime work is required as approved by management.
  7. Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
  8. Considerable work is physical activity. Requires heavy physical work requiring ability to lift 75 pounds.
