The Information Technology Division (ITD) provides information technology services to functional programs of the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). In addition, via memorandum of agreement (MOA), ITD provides technology services to the Disability Services Agencies (DSA), which include the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC), Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI), the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired (VRCBVI), the Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH), and the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities (VBPD). These technology services are provided in support of the DSA's strategic goals, objectives, and initiatives. These services include Applications Development and Management, Engineering Technology and Infrastructure Support, and VITA and Cloud Technologies Support.

We are seeking an Application Developer / Analysts (Wage). This position reports to the DSA IT Lead Developer and supports the development team and working collaboratively with the DSA IT Lead Developer to ensure applications and systems development support is equipped to carry out DSA strategic objectives and initiatives. In addition, ensures compliance with the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) and other stakeholders' standards, policies, and guidelines; compliance with state and federal statues governing the collection and security of DSA data and the administration of IT systems and applications.

The position you are applying for is an Hourly/Wage position. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than an average of 29 hours a week and can't exceed 1500 hours during their employment year. This position does not include health insurance, retirement or leave.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge/Experience -

Training in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, a Computer Science related field, or experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VB.NET, ASP.NET Web forms, Source Control, Visual Studio 2010 to 2022, SQL Server Database and TSQL, MS Office Suite and Windows OS.

Knowledge Modern Programming Techniques and Tools. Knowledge of the SDLC. Knowledge and/or experience with Reporting Tools; Design and Analytical skill and troubleshooting and testing.

Skills/Abilities -

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to build solutions. Ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities.

Additional Considerations

Full-stack development (e.g. BootStrap, Jquery, C#, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET CORE, WEB API, Web Services, IIS, Crystal Reports, Active Reports, Power BI, Telerik Controls, TFS, Wireframe). Commonwealth of Virginia Security and Risk Management and NIST Security Standards (e.g. SEC 530).

Knowledge and/or experience with Document Imaging (e.g. Docfinity), Power Shell, Software vulnerability analysis, SharePoint, Wireframe (e.g. Balsamiq), DevOps and cloud solutions (AWS, Azure).
