OPENTEXT

OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of cybersecurity and digital transformation.

The Opportunity

Fortify has been named a Leader in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing - one of the fastest-growing Cybersecurity segments. In fact, Fortify has been a Leader in this Magic Quadrant for ten years in a row. We help our customers build secure software fast; our application security platform automates testing throughout the CI/CD pipeline.

As a Solutions Consultant, you will be a technical expert in the sales process and help drive customer adoption of the Fortify application security suite. Successful Fortify Solutions Consultants have a strong understanding of DevSecOps and how application security fits into our customers' overall business & technical strategy. You will be within the Presales career path in a single portfolio such as Fortify, across multiple portfolios within cybersecurity and beyond, and throughout the broader organization beyond Presales. We stand apart from our competition by delivering technical innovation across many strategic areas.

What you are Great at:
  • Collaborating with sales reps through the majority of a customer's buying journey -- from helping uncover and qualify new sales opportunities to the "technical win" or loss (when customers make a definitive, informed conclusion that our software solution does or does not meet their minimum requirements).
  • Creating and delivering effective software demonstrations - visually showing how Fortify can integrate and add value to a customer's software development and testing process. This often requires reconfiguring (sometimes even rebuilding) a demo environment to reflect a customer's unique requirements.
  • Leading technical workshops to educate customers on best practices - sometimes including written recommendations to further modernize a customer's application security program like we have done with other customers (current / future state for their people, process, and technology).
  • Planning and execution of pre-sale hands-on software evaluations ("Proof of Value" engagements) - balancing the objectives of 1) securing the customer's decision to purchase ("technical win") and 2) containing the scope and duration of the evaluation.

What it Takes:
  • Deep technical experience, handling multiple requests simultaneously from multiple sales reps. You must be willing to exert your technical leadership with both colleagues and customers through your knowledge and enthusiasm.
  • Application development fundamentals (SDLC, development methodologies and trends, terminology, roles & responsibilities within an enterprise, etc.)
  • Security fundamentals (common vulnerabilities, business risks, static vs dynamic testing, open source software risks, etc.)

Helpful Knowledge & Skills:
  • Development language such as C++, Java, .Net, etc.
  • Build tools and processes such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, source control, etc.
  • Bug trackers such as JIRA and Bugzilla.
  • IDEs such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, and IntelliJ.
  • Cloud and container platforms such as AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Application security testing solutions such as Fortify, Checkmarx, Veracode, CodeQL, Snyk, SemGrep, Burp, Invicti Netsparker, Accunetix, etc.
  • Technical certifications such as CSSLP, OSWE, C-WAST, GWEB, CAST, GSSP, GWAPT, etc.
