Will be responsible for data, reporting and system support of the mission-critical student information and reporting APS systems, currently Synergy SIS.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop SQL scripts to extract and report data from various databases and other data sources.
• Develop and schedule processing jobs within the current SIS environment, currently using Microsoft (MS) SQL Server Agent, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and Visual Studio.
• Develop and publish reports, currently using MS SQL Server Reporting Services SSRS and current data warehouse reporting tools using the ER's above.
• Support a variety of data exchange interfaces within the current SIS.
• Apply application software upgrades and data updates to the current SIS. This requires after hours work.
• Use versioning control software to track new and updated scripts.
• Assist with server and database administration, monitoring and support within the current SIS environment.
• Develop, document, train and maintain strict development processes, policies and procedures for use department-wide.
• Develop, train and maintain quality assurance (QA) procedures for use department-wide.
• Hold formal and informal QA sessions with staff to ensure data and reporting accuracy and quality.
• Ensure that the district complies with federal and state reporting for accountability.
• Collaborate with APS Technology to ensure hardware and software standards are met and Disaster Recovery is in place.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of Student Information Systems in a large school district, preferably Synergy; functional and technical.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and use Entity Relationships (ER) in a large complex database and reporting system.
• Experience and ability to work with Microsoft SQL Server database and development technologies T-SQL, SSRS and SSIS. Ability to develop functions, views, stored procedures, triggers and cursors.
• Basic understanding of system/network administration: Microsoft SQL Server and Windows 2012/2016 OS, server hardware and networking (.NET framework).
• Experience using Visual Studio and C# programming.
• Existing knowledge of the use of version control software, Atlassian BitBucket GIT Version Control.
• Experience with role based security, authentication with Active Directory (AD) and the creation and maintenance of User Groups in LDAP.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree and 2 years' experience OR
• Bachelor's degree and 4 years' experience OR
• Associate degree and 6 years' experience OR
• Ten years related experience.
