** Please note, that this Medical Assistant Apprentice position is in partnership with JEVS Program.**
Responsible for direct patient care and assisting other clinical staff with direct patient care in a professional manner according to established policies, procedures and standards of care.
This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) pediatric, adolescent, adult, older adult and frail elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
Qualifications
HS diploma or equivalent required.
Completed JEVs program.
One year of experience working in a similar medical setting is preferred.
Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required, or renewal must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
Ability to perform clinical functions including but not limited to: perform EKGs, venipuncture, finger sticks, injections, collection of throat/nasal swabs and wound cultures, lab/specimen prep, suture/staple removal, point of care testing as well as successful completion of computer-based clinical skills testing are required. General typing (28 WPM) preferred; filing and reception skills, spelling, grammar and telephone etiquette skills, and excellent customer service skills are required.
Medical Assistant Apprentices' schedules may include occasional evenings and/or weekends and may require assignment to other office locations to ensure safe staffing levels and optimal business operation. Ability to work evenings, weekends and travel to other office locations for work coverage is required.
