THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

Enterprise Architects are a highly skilled technical resource who is an innovative thinker, capable of envisioning how technology can be leveraged to solve complex business problems and deliver business outcomes. They are responsible for architecting, designing and implementing scalable best in class enterprise initiatives in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment. This role is a hands-on technical contributor who anticipates implementation risks, defines appropriate mitigation plans, and implements them as appropriate. They work closely with cross functional business and IT teams in a highly collaborative environment to architect well-designed solutions that lower business and IT risk, increase reuse, and lower the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH ALL THESE GOALS BY:
  • Business Architecture: Contributes to the creation and review of a systems capability strategy which meets the strategic requirements of the business. Creates models and plans to drive forward the strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance. Undertakes responsibility for investigative work to determine requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, data management, practices, procedures, organization and equipment.
  • Solution Architecture: Contribute to the development of architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers while balancing between functional, service quality and systems management needs. Ensure that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to.
  • Information Management: Develop and maintain the organization's strategy for managing data, ensuring that uniformly recognized and accepted data definitions are developed and applied throughout the organization. Ensure that the business processes and information required to support the organization are defined and devise appropriate standards, processes and data architectures. Evaluate the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations on the organization's use of information and develop strategies for compliance.
  • IT Governance: Support the work of the governing authority/board, lead the review of management processes (and decisions) for compliance with the organization's strategy for corporate governance of information and develop architecture policies and standards.
  • Culture: Establish, evangelize, and advocate for a community of collaborative technologist-centric culture.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (need to differentiate from the Sr Architect)
  • Manage portfolio of business capabilities.
  • Manage Application Portfolio Management (APM) and related migrations.
  • Create, enable, and manage the technology landscape.
  • Partner closely with platform architects and support buildout of solution architecture for large initiatives.
  • Build out cross-functional enterprise technology community.
  • Support enablement and management of the enterprise tech debt register.
  • Support enablement of enterprise technology strategies (API, Cloud, Data, Mobile, Open Source)
  • Drive innovation culture through enabling a healthy technology community.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to help the team grow and deliver quantifiable value.
THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience.
  • 8+ years of overall experience in information technology including architecture, design and development.
  • 5+ years demonstrated leadership experience in complex business and technical environments as an architect is required.
  • Deep, hands-on technical acumen.

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change.
  • Possess a strong work ethic; takes pride in producing a quality product.
