The Area Colleague Experience Coordinator reports to the Area Human Resources Director and assists in the support of the Human Resources function for two hotels (Alila Napa Valley and Calistoga Motor Lodge). Their primary focus involves meeting the needs of our colleagues and managers to support them in delivering an outstanding experience for our guests. They help align events, coordinate tasks and educate our colleagues on internal Hyatt systems and processes to help drive business results. Seasonal positions have the potential to convert to regular, full-time based on performance and business needs. This hourly position begins at $27.00.

Requirements:

Recruiting

• Assist with recruiting efforts by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.

• Support hiring managers in sourcing top talent and managing the recruitment process to ensure a seamless and efficient experience.

• Extend offers, background links, new hire paperwork, and follow the candidate experience through to onboarding. Ensure timely onboarding upon completion of required pre-employment activities.

Arrival Experience

• Assist in delivering an inspirational on-boarding experience for new colleagues

o Ensure all new hires promptly receive their Day One instructions and a warm welcome to foster a positive first impression and smooth onboarding experience.

o Greet new hires on their first day to review their benefits package, resort policies, and guide them through completing other essential new hire paperwork

o Coordinate with management to assign a department “buddy” who will continue to guide new hires through the onboarding process, provide a resort tour, and facilitate introductions, warmly integrating our new colleague into the Hyatt Family.

Culture

• Ensure activities and events are reflective of our culture and they demonstrate Hyatt’s purpose and values

o In partnership with other departments, coordinate fun and rewarding Thrive events, monitor and track activities

o Partner with the Church to foster an on-going relationship and coordinate mutually beneficial activities

o Coordinate birthday and anniversary celebrations, colleague of the month and manager of the quarter awards, new hire orientation (Welcome to Hyatt), and other colleague events throughout the year

o Collaborate with managers to drive other colleague recognition programs

• Create a warm and welcoming environment for our colleagues

o Monitor the colleague dining room for cleanliness, timeliness of family meals, and ensure it continues to be a space for colleagues to relax and refresh

• Help execute colleague communications including back-of-house postings

Growth & Learning

• Assist with on-site learning opportunities in support of colleagues and leaders

• Provide support to Area HRD by acting as a liaison with Colleagues and Managers

• Assist in other HR areas during an absence of an Area HR Team member

Serve

• Point of contact for:

o Liaison with Sedgwick and corp LOA team as it relates to Leave of Absences, Worker’s Comp, etc

o Payroll related issues (questions, check distribution, manual checks, etc.)

o Benefit inquiries (Vacation, Comp Rooms, Tuition Reimbursement)

o Wage verifications

• Administration of local legal compliance postings, forms

• Oversee office supplies, purchase orders, expressions of sympathy/joy, etc.

Departure Experience

• Facilitate departure experience

o If retiring, plan retirement party or something meaningful to the colleague

• Respond to initial unemployment response requests

• Maintain Digital Document files (personnel records)

• Complete exit process with our departing colleague and maintain accurate recording of terminations in employee management system

Experience

• Minimum six months Human Resources experience in the service industry preferred

• Working knowledge of HR discipline including employee relations preferred

• Well organized, detail oriented and ability to multi-task.

• Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills

• Bi-lingual in Spanish strongly preferred

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
