The scope of the Assembly Planning Specialist will be to manage projects in an automotive manufacturing environment to meet and exceed company goals and objectives. The roll and responsibilities are comprised of the following, including but not limited to:

Onsite Support

Direct Support at the Plant for Assembly Planning Topics
  • Specification Development (Develop new manufacturing equipment specifications for new and existing features)
  • Vendor selection and management
  • Installation, Commissioning, Handover, Release to Production
  • Post Release Stand-by support
  • Change Management / Documentation
  • Continual improvement
  • Create a continuous improvement environment to develop best in class production system
  • Coordinate activities with the maintenance and production team to minimize production delays due to equipment issues
  • Develop systems to meet KPIs(Key Performance Indicators) and analyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements
  • Identify requirements for vehicle structure to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost in all departments within the automotive facility
  • Monitor safety, quality, cost, and productivity, with improvement activities for assigned areas of production
  • Complete projects on schedule and within the annual administrative, operational, and capital budgets
  • Provide direction and assistance to analyze production issues, propose countermeasures, and resolve issues
  • Collaborate with other production departments, quality, pilot hall, R&D, production control, maintenance and engineering to provide best in class product quality
  • Implement training plans to improve overall organizational capability production departments
  • Lead Engineering activities in processing model changes/ investigations
  • Prepare clear and well-written communications on behalf of senior management, both within company plant & to outside recipients, including Germany as required. Prepare & coordinate various reports, presentations & documents with the departments by gathering data and/or preparing PowerPoint slides


General Information

The primary responsibility for this position will be to manage an active conveyor steel project by tracking all points and topics with the contractor to ensure complete scope of work is carried out. This includes pre-construction and construction activities between engineers, inspectors, and contractors.

Contract Duration
  • This contract is for 1 year with the possibility of extension


Work Schedule
  • Typical work schedule for this position will be Friday - Monday 10 hour shifts.
  • Potential to work other days of the week and Plant Shutdown(s).


Holiday Structure
  • Holidays to follow the standard holiday calendar however employee must remain flexible to work any holiday that's required by the project schedule. Holidays that are worked will be returned in form of comp days or make up holidays that can be taken at a different time.


Work Week
  • Contracts should be based on a 40hr work week. With overtime as needed and only when approved by department Manager.

PTO
  • Contracts to include 12 days of PTO.


Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years job related experience, automotive background preferred
  • 4 year Engineering degree or Project management degree
  • Proficient in reviewing design/construction plans "Blue Prints"
  • Positive employee relations/team building
  • Continuous improvement
  • Project Management Experience
  • Vendor Management
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, word documents

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • ERP/MRP/EDI System Knowledge
  • Implementation of engineering changes
  • Maintenance system development/management
  • Jig and Fixture development
  • PLC programming
  • Assembly torque tools
  • Microstation or Catia design
  • Ergonomic assist development
  • Automotive facility start-up
  • External logistics coordination
  • Automotive manufacturing experience


Pay Details: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
