The company is an SEC-registered investment adviser that provides investment advisory services to a variety of products, including registered investment companies, private funds, and separately managed accounts. Managing more than $179 billion in assets for money market funds and other short-term fixed-income liquidity management strategies. The Performance Analyst role will work within the Performance team and support accurate and timely performance measurement and reporting. This role involves the collecting, calculating, measuring, and analyzing of investment performance results and communication of those results in support of both internal management and external clients. The successful candidate will have a high attention to detail, a strong background in portfolio performance and attribution as well as excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate and analyze performance returns for accounts in the firm's performance measurement system, researching and resolving any discrepancies that arise promptly.
  • Set up and maintain new client accounts and benchmarks in the performance system.
  • Monitor and reconcile benchmark data information received from index providers, resolve any data problems, and manage internal benchmark records.
  • Use performance data from various systems to calculate, analyze, and interpret data to determine contributing factors to performance results in comparison to benchmarks.
  • Calculate and maintain performance composites in compliance with GIPS. Update and maintain necessary composite documents and disclosures.
  • Assist in maintaining the firm's adherence to GIPS and maintaining GIPS verification records and other documents.
  • Complete internal/external client performance requests, support the firm's RFP processes, and produce performance-related materials for consultant databases.
  • Conduct ongoing reporting or ad hoc reporting as needed at an excellent service level.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the flow of firm information to accounting and performance systems and use that knowledge to troubleshoot problems.
  • Contribute ideas for and assist in the implementation of improvements to efficiency, accuracy, and controls about assigned work, projects, or other process enhancements.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in operations/technology project management activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • College degree required (mathematics/statistics, finance, or equivalent field preferred).
  • Five plus years of related experience.
  • A solid, detailed understanding of performance and attribution calculations and methodologies.
  • Understand investment concepts, portfolio accounting, security types, accruals, and how transactions affect performance.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially MS Excel, MS Word & MS Access applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members and comfortable running detailed scheduled or ad-hoc reports independently; manage multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Self-directed with a willingness to learn and follow through projects to completion.

Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with trust and fiduciary systems, operations, and investment systems.
  • Working toward CIPM and/or CFA.
  • Experience in database analytics, data mining, and data manipulation to produce accurate, high-quality work, attentive to details.
  • Knowledge of SS&C Sylvan and SS&C PORTIA strongly preferred, prior experience with Clearwater, FactSet, and Bloomberg.
