What will I do as an Asset Protection Manager at The GIANT Company?
  • Knowledgeable about Asset Protection (AP) and Company shrink initiatives and strategies; ensures Asset Protection Associate (APA) compliance
  • Conducts surveillance into matters related to AP, including: detection and apprehension of suspected shoplifters, Organized Retail Crime, and perpetrators of various types of felonies and misdemeanors
  • Maintains industry-standard interview and interrogation skills; conducts interviews and collects all necessary evidence and documentation for specific investigations
  • Establishes contacts and working relationships with various law enforcement agencies, as well as internal partners, and raises awareness regarding the impact of Organized Retail Crime
  • Represents the company in court as required and remembers the importance of protecting the Brand
  • Conducts daily store tours identifying rotation, markdown, store use, front end and cash office compliance, and receiving deficiencies and executing corrective action as necessary
  • Verifies all required communication is present and current throughout the store and applicable departments
  • Maintains a working knowledge of store inventory and how it impacts the success of our business
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all front end and cash office procedures and how they impact the success of our business
  • Reviews shrink best practices and execution of shrink reduction strategy drivers on store visits; coaches stores on areas such as rotation, backroom organization, and additional shrink reduction opportunities
  • Reviews weekly and period reporting and assists in reacting to issues and opportunities seen in assigned District
  • Ensures all Profitech and KLT issues are resolved in a timely manner and all required responses are submitted
  • Establishes and fosters a positive relationship with all District Directors and Store Managers by addressing concerns, demonstrating leadership and accountability, and driving for results
  • Represents District/Brand Asset Protection for all weekly/period meetings including DST, Front End, Receiving, Inventory, and Shrink
  • Oversees and assists in implementation of store security equipment for new stores, remodels, and acquisitions
  • Recruits, hires, and trains Asset Protection Administrators; supervise assigned Asset Protection Administrators and provides mentoring and training as needed
  • Schedules appropriate staffing levels in stores to ensure physical and personal safety
  • Handles day-to-day questions regarding fuel, conducts quarterly audits, and ensures fuel sites are within compliance.
  • Oversees the case management process and reviews Asset Protection Administrator reports for accuracy
  • Provides Asset Protection expertise, direction, and training to Store Management; assists with the training and development of Store Department Managers to ensure they have a working knowledge of all department shrink activities, including how to complete shrink books, submit claims, and identify and submit markdown requests; validates their understanding of the sales to purchase department process
