The Assistant Admissions Manager is responsible for identifying patient/family/caregiver needs and providing nursing and supportive care in accordance with the plan of care, and policies and procedures. In addition, this position will provide oversight of the Patient access staff in the absence of the Admissions Manager.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
3 years of nursing experience including some hospice and/or home health care nursing.
Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

The role you'll contribute:
The Assistant Admissions Manager is responsible for identifying patient/family/caregiver needs and providing nursing and supportive care in accordance with the plan of care, and policies and procedures. In addition, this position will provide oversight of the Patient access staff in the absence of the Admissions Manager.

- Assists the admissions manager in providing overall direction of the operations related to Admissions/Referrals
• Maintains knowledge and communicates to staff regarding policies and procedures required to comply with federal, state and local guidelines as well as Medicare, Medicaid and insurance reimbursement requirements
• Interprets requirements to determine eligibility when a unique or questionable case is referred
• Communicates with Clinical Services and Admissions Department leadership to determine and coordinate staffing levels
• Collaborates with the Admissions Manager to oversee the referrals process to ensure each telephone call regarding a patient referral for hospice services is appropriately answered and processed
• Communicates with other healthcare providers regarding referrals including doctors, hospitals, assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities
• Collaborates with the admissions manager to oversee the recovery process that includes follow-up with patients who are identified as non-admitted, discharged (no longer terminally ill) and/or have revoked the Hospice Medicare Benefit and ensures tracking and monitoring of changes for these patients that may indicate future hospice need
• Reviews nursing documentation and charting to ensure it is timely, accurate and complete. Communicates with Health Information Management Department to update incomplete documentation
• Accompanies staff periodically to evaluate performance and knowledge and lend expertise and guidance to improve subordinate skills
• May fill in for Admission Nurse, as needed
