Duties

  • Assistant in the supervision, planning and administering a wide range of basic aquatic activities, and coordination with the MWR marketing department to publicize events of the aquatic programs.
  • Assists the aquatic manager with the APF and NAF budget for the assigned facilities and programs. Review budget execution reports with the aquatic manager to ensure desired execution rate is met.
  • Assist with the development and update of the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies.
  • Assists with maintaining, ensuring accountability and proper operating condition of equipment. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and reports any deficiencies as required.
  • Ensures proper handling and storage of chemicals and other supplies. Assist with the arrangement of equipment, supplies and services needed to accomplish assigned functions.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic programs.
    • This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor aquatic programs and facilities.
    • Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level.
  • Current certification in Life guarding or Life guarding instructor.
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent.
  • The following certificates must be obtained within 12 months of appointment
    • Water Safety Instructor - Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Pool Operator certification
  • The following certificate must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty:
    • AED

PCS Costs

  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS moveis not in the Government's interest.

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials

  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

Incentives and Bonuses

  • Up to 25% recruitment or relocation and/or a retention incentive may be authorized.

Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
  • Eligible for 1.69% COLA (subject to change at any time).
