Position Summary:
The Assistant Controller is a key member of the Accounting and Finance team and is responsible for assisting in the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements including consolidations and analysis in accordance with GAAP as well as corporate policies and procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the adherence to and execution of the company's accounting procedures and controls in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain and manage GL entries required to reflect monthly activities.
- Manage general and cost accounting activities ensuring all general ledger functions (Accounts Payable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Inventory) are completed timely and accurately.
- Oversee annual physical inventory counts as well as cycle counts as appropriate and monitoring of inventory levels (raw materials, WIP and finished goods) for all locations.
- Lead and manage inventory costing and reserves processes and systems.
- Assist in all facets of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including the creation of journal entries, eliminations, consolidations, and preparation of financial statements w/commentary to explain monthly results that can be understood at the operating level and at the executive level.
- Performs various account analysis reviews and approve monthly account reconciliations.
- Interact with external auditors as well as prepare quarterly and annual audit schedules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve transactional errors in the ERP system.
- Assist with calculation of ROI on Capital Expenditures.
- Continually collaborate with manufacturing/operations to identify and implement opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and cost savings.
- Must be able to work on ITAR items without a license.

- Proficient with date analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
Education, Experience & Training:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA license preferred
- 5 + years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing accounting, multi-company and international experience is a plus.
- Proficient knowledge of latest computer technology- working in connection with all of the company's programs and systems including ERP systems, Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Microsoft Dynamics AX system preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
