Job Summary:

The Assistant Dean Finance & Administration is responsible for managing the financial activity, the facilities, and the operations of the Neeley School of Business. This role reports directly to the Dean and has a dotted line to the Provost's Finance team - reporting to the Associate Provost Academic Affairs Planning and Budgeting.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. In partnership with the School's senior leadership team and the finance and administration team in the Provost's Office, leads the design and implementation of systems, processes, and services that support the School.
2. Develops and articulates a compelling vision and a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the Neeley School's mission, vision, goals, & objectives.
3. Drives cross-functional collaboration to align operational goals with overall organizational objectives.
4. Fosters a culture of innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement, encouraging teams to think creatively and embrace change.
5. Works closely with the Provost's Office, Budget Office, and the Office of Financial Services on operating activity, revenue share, personnel expenses, capital planning, and other financial activity.
6. Provides financial oversight to the finance team, including financial planning, budgeting, multi-year forecasting, contract review, and reporting.
7. Develops and maintains operating budgets by organizing and reporting budget information; preparing and monitoring project accounts; preparing executive financial summaries and identifying methods to reallocate funds and reduce expenses; identifying annual and multi-year capital and technology needs.
8. Manages and monitors Neeley facilities and equipment by evaluating availability of new equipment and making recommendations for purchases, repairs and changes.
9. Serves as a liaison for Neeley's information technology resources by working with appropriate stakeholders to assess technology and audio/visual needs;
10. Facilitates Neeley School personnel functions by coordinating with the dean, department chairs and budget managers on performance reviews, hiring of faculty and staff, promotions, merit raises, and terminations;
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 5 years' experience in financial management and leadership in a higher educational, non-profit or related environment.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business.
• Master's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field of study
• Experience in a University setting is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of financial budgets, planning and analysis.
• Knowledge of budget process.
• Knowledge of leadership techniques.

• Skill in some or all components of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and outlook.
• Skill in effective written and verbal communication.
• Skill in the use of PeopleSoft Financial and Human Resources systems
• Ability to extract and analyze financial data in a digital environment

• Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and research capabilities
