Job Summary

Reporting to the Divisional Dean, the Assistant Dean of Nursing Operations provides administrative leadership in division operations, business process mapping, student onboarding, clinical placement, compliance, and accreditation. The position fosters an environment that supports operational efficiency that helps strengthen partnerships within and outside the College. The position collaborates with administration, faculty, and staff to ensure that all students have a productive campus and clinical experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Assists the dean in managing the division's activities, including planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating projects, processes, procedures, systems, and standards
  • Coordinates the application, admissions, and post-admissions process for all programs and identifies opportunities to improve the student pre- and post-program admissions experience, such as conducting regular audits of applications, immunizations, and other required documents
  • Collaborates with the dean, faculty, and staff to develop and execute enrollment management strategies to positively impact recruitment, retention, and student success
  • Provides oversight to faculty loads, stipend requests and execution, and schedule development
  • Assists the dean in managing the relationships with clinical staff from affiliate hospitals and clinics to ensure students are eligible for clinical placement
  • Assists the dean in developing the division/student handbook and documents processes (i.e., process maps) and workflows in faculty and student areas
  • Assists the dean in ensuring the division complies with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards
  • Prepares operations reports at the end of each academic term, annually, and ad hoc, and uses analytics and assessment to ensure operational effectiveness and student success
  • Provides coaching, guidance, and mentoring to enhance the team's internal capabilities and ensure the achievement of established objectives and plans
  • Represents the District and/or the campus at community or college meetings or events and participates in faculty and committee activities




General Supervision and Management
  • Recruits, interviews, and recommends the appointment of highly qualified faculty and staff
  • Aids and promotes professional development among faculty and staff in teaching classes, conducting orientation programs, and scheduling events


Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, creativity, and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Works under the general supervision of the Divisional Dean

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Project Management, Nursing, or Health Sciences or a Master's degree with graduate coursework sufficient to fulfill the essential job responsibilities
  • Three (3) years' administrative working experience in a healthcare or educational setting
  • Two (2) years' experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others; leading projects or processes)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree
  • Certification in project management
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience analyzing business processes and workflows extensively
  • Experience developing instructional and procedural documentation and presentations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of planning, program development, evaluation, and budgeting
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships with diverse populations, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication
  • Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Skilled in process mapping and business process reengineering
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly and accurately in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a diverse setting
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
