Position Summary

The position is based at the Terry Executive Education Center (TEEC) in Atlanta, located at 3475 Lenox Rd NE, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30326.

The Assistant Director of Career Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the goals for the success of Executive, Professional, and Online MBA students and the EMBA, PMBA, and OMBA programs. The Assistant Director provides essential analysis on the office's impact and graduates' outcomes in order to shape strategy and inform prospective students, leads the execution of key office priorities, and supports other initiatives through effective communications and project management.

The Assistant Director will work directly with staff, students, alumni, and corporate contacts toward the office's goal of ensuring that Executive, Professional, and Online MBA students and alumni are able to accomplish the career transitions that they came to the program intending to achieve. Delivery of services will evolve with corporate standards, and advice and practices will keep pace with the talent marketplace as it changes.

The Assistant Director is a core participant in the creation and delivery of a comprehensive career program for approximately 500 students in the Executive, Professional and Online MBA programs. These students have a wide range of experience (from 2 years to 30 years) across a wide range of career backgrounds; goals that include career acceleration (staying in current industry and function), switching (changing industry, function, or both), and exploring (investigating whether to accelerate or switch); individualized timelines; and demanding schedules. The career program will therefore deliver flexible solutions to meet these needs, including career education / best practices and coaching.

Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of key metrics:
  • Become the subject matter expert on the employment data collection and reporting process for PMBA, OMBA, and EMBA employment data.
  • Report on all employment data for internal and external constituents, including interim and final reports on employment outcomes for each class of Executive, Professional and Online MBA students and graduates.
  • Design, propose, and implement improvements to processes for information collection, clean-up, and reporting.
  • Collect and document LinkedIn profile information on student career changes for use in employment reporting.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with student and graduate information.
  • Develop and manage ways of assessing engagement in and effectiveness of online Career Advancement Resources modules for all 3 programs.
  • Collect and track coaching interests, utilization, and expenditures.
  • Collect and track insights from feedback surveys.
  • Track utilization of resources by students and alumni and make recommendations.
  • Monitor expenses against budget and recommend adjustments to meet goals.
  • Create and deploy appropriate measures to evaluate student needs and current services, and to inform the ongoing development of Career Management strategy.
  • Develop and update operating procedures manual to guide this aspect of office operations.

Duties/Responsibilities

Lead the following office initiatives:
  • Communicating to students and outside constituents via the departmental email account, to matriculated students via announcements in the courseware system (currently D2L / eLearningCommons (eLC), and to deposited students via Slate.
  • Scheduling and executing event operations (Strengths onboarding workshops, Connect with a Career Coach, Dawgs Opening Doors, others TBD).
  • Distributing assessments to all incoming students and tracking completion.
  • Instructing students and staff, and troubleshooting issues with resource systems (currently eLC, ManagementConsulted, SkillSyncer, CliftonStrengths, CareerLeader, and UGA's Handshake system).
  • Deploying and managing systems for scheduling and conducting coaching appointments (currently MS Bookings and MS Teams).
  • Corresponding with employers and promoting jobs via email and job postings archive.
  • Managing the alumni job postings listserv.
  • Managing the University of Georgia MBA Alumni & Students LinkedIn group.

Execute the following office priorities:
  • Updating web pages for prospective students, alumni, and employers.
  • Updating Career Advancement Resources course materials for students and alumni.
  • Updating Corporate Talent Guides for employers.
  • Marketing and processing reimbursements for students participating in diversity career fairs (including MBA Veterans, National Black MBA Association, Prospanica, and Reaching Out MBA).
  • Reaching out to students in need of career support.
  • Researching new technologies to support student and alumni career outcomes.
  • Executing purchase orders for coaches and other purchases, verifying invoices, sending them for processing.
  • Proposing, maintaining, and executing office procedures to ensure efficient operations.
  • Performing other miscellaneous duties as needed.
