Description of Work
Manages data management systems for each of the units within Office of Global Affairs: Global Partnerships & Initiatives, the International Students and Scholars Office ( ISSO ), Global Experiences Office, Programs in English as a Second Language, and Global Safety & Security.

Coordinates the implementation and maintenance of data management system updates ( SUNAPSIS , VIA , Student Success Hub, PeopleSoft).

Manages data output and reporting for the Office of Global Affairs.

Serves as primary coordinator and point of contact for all required annual reporting annual Open Doors Reports for Education Abroad, International Students, International Scholars and Programs in English as a Second Language.

Develops, runs and verify reports, including assessments and annual surveys and provides support to Office of Global Affairs various processes, gathers and interprets data and generate comprehensive reports for the unit, other University offices, and national organizations including reports on enrollment trends and projections.

Manages employee travel registry data and produces travel reports and requests access for staff to various campus systems.

Develops and administers training for Office of Global Affairs and on campus units on data management systems.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in student services, data management, or related field and two (2) years in a data management position in an educational institution; equivalent education/experience considered. Ability to read, understand, interpret and explain immigration laws and regulations. Must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must possess effective decision-making skills, exercise good judgment, accept responsibility, and perform duties in an atmosphere of team-like cooperation and which requires a high level of confidentiality. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate complex information effectively required. Demonstrated success in working and communicating effectively with individuals of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Experience utilizing a database management system in higher education (i.e. SUNAPSIS / VIA ).

Must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident as required by federal regulations for Primary/Designated School Officials ( PDSO / DSO ) and Alternate/Responsible Officers (RO/ ARO ).

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in student services, data management or related field and four (4) years' experience in a data management position in an international education office at a college or university. Experience managing a database management system for international students and scholars (such as SUNAPSIS , Terra Dotta, ISSM ) and/or experience with an education abroad database management system (Terra Dotta, VIA ) and experience with university specific software programs (PeopleSoft, Student Success Plan, SUNAPSIS , VIA ). Familiarity with UNL -specific software programs, including PeopleSoft, SAP , Student Success Hub, SUNAPSIS , VIA as well as experience in data processing software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, PowerBI. Knowledge of the University's policies and procedures especially in regard to academic policies, payroll, human resources and advising.
