The Assistant Director position manages all non-academic aspects of international and graduate legal programs at the Law School. There are more than 26 international exchange programs (incoming and outgoing), located around the world, and 5 summer-abroad programs, located in five different countries. In addition, the law school has a Master of Laws (LLM) program and a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) program, both of which are administered by this office.
• Knowledge of the unique problems that international students confront in the United States.
• Knowledge of legal educational systems in countries around the world.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of administrative personnel located around the world.
• Ability to interact effectively with international students arriving at Tulane Law School.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with Tulane Law School Faculty.
• Ability to create and administer a variety of social programs for international students.
• Ability to administer the admissions process for multiple summer programs located in different countries.
• Ability to administer and process incoming and out-going applications for international exchange programs.
• Ability to administer and process applications for summer abroad programs.
• Ability to create budgets for the international programs department.
• Ability to perform tasks such as financial projections.• Ability to use all major software programs, such as Word, Excel, Canvas, etc.
• Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience working with international students or international programs in an administrative capacity.
OR
• High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 6 years of increasing responsibility in the administration of international programs.
• Fluency in at least one foreign language, such as French, Spanish, or Chinese.
• An advanced degree, such as an MBA or a J.D.
• Has lived abroad, and/or had extensive experience abroad, either studying, or working.
